Climate!!

Since freshwater areas can be found all around the world, such as The Nile River in Egypt or the Great Lakes in America, there is not just one climate, as it varies across the globe. But there are average temperatures of the waters:

  • During the summer, the temperature can range from 4° C near the bottom to 22° C at the top.
  • During the winter, the temperature at the bottom can be 4° C while the top is 0° C (ice). In between the two layers, there is a narrow zone the temperature of the water changes rapidly.
  • During the spring and fall seasons, because of winds the top and bottom layers mix, having an average tempturature of about 4° C
